Out of nowhere, Dick Cheney has seemingly catapulted himself back onto the main stage with the release of his new tell all memoir “In My Time.” Honestly, I’m split on this. While I would like a look into one of the worst and most secretive presidential administrations this country has ever had, I’m not sure how much political spin my body is going to be able to digest before it goes into shock. In my eyes, Dick Cheney will always be an evil war hawk.
Whether it was condoning wanton acts of violence against anyone suspected of terrorism Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo, the throwing under the bus of Valerie Plame to keep her in line, the lie to get us into Iraq and the subsequent boom that his former business Halliburton got in the country on an awarded contract, or any other of his actions or statements, it would lead me to form an opinion of him that is very negative. One would think the man wouldn’t have had so many health problems if his heart wasn’t forged out of the ashes and embers of a children’s orphanage, flowing through it the toxicity equal to old rat droppings instead of blood.
