Art of the Union

It seems that happenstance has struck again in the political landscape, allowing me to post on my blog despite that I haven’t been able to draw or write anything new. In recent news, Palestine has been lobbying The United Nations for statehood, and in typical United States fashion of kowtowing to Israel, the US has been adamantly putting effort into blocking it. While it is suggested that statehood would strain the proven futile peace talks between Israel and Palestine, I suspect it has more to do with the influence of pro- Israel lobbyists in Washington such as AIPAC. Compounding the idea that some peace resolution in the area won’t come to fruition is Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu’s aggressive policy on settlement expansion and little-to-no effort in peaceful negotiation.
